In this quilt I used Laurel Burch's fanciful felines as focus fabric and a variety of other fabrics for the rest. I hand pieced the entire quilt, something I probably would not have done and will not do again, had I stopped to think just how many small pieces of fabric were involved. With time I have become much less inclined to hand piece lots of small pieces, using my machine a lot more, and paying my good friend Regina Carter to machine quilt most of my quilts. There are just too many quilts to make and too little time.
However, I made this quilt in 2004, before I realized how valuable my time was! It was a baby present for my great niece Grace, I took this picture of Grace, who is now four years old, on her quilt., which is still plenty big enough for her.
