About Me

My photo
Charlotta
I have been quilting since around 1994. I love zebras because the stark contrast in their coloring is beautiful to me, and because they are black and white together, something we too often fail to be. I've been collecting zebra fabric and for the past several years I have incorporated at least one piece of zebra fabric in each of my quilts.

Charlotta's Bright and Beautiful

This quilt was a present to me from my friends in Atlanta Intown Quilters. We took turns getting a group quilt where individual members contributed blocks. When it was my turn, I asked for blocks using bright fabrics. I didn't specify a size or a pattern, just asked that no embellishments be used. I put the blocks together framing each with white and black fabric and adding lots of other bright fabrics from my stash. I hand-quilted it using perle cotton with patterns of the fabric and the blocks as my guide.
The quilt hangs on the wall in our living room so I get to see and enjoy it every day. It is extra special because of the care my friends took to make the blocks especially for me.
