I have always been attracted to Amish and Mennonite quilts, but I have only ever made one, perhaps because these quilts, generally having large areas of one color, require a lot of quilting - and I am probably too lazy or too impatient to get going on the next quilt.
But this quilt was a labor of love and I very much enjoyed making it. It was originally for my dear friend Mary Brown Eastland, but almost immediately after I gave it to her, she eloped and married the love of her life, Lewis Sinclair, so I changed it and made it a wedding present for them in March 1997.

Here is a picture of Lewis and Mary Sinclair from around 2005.
